Apple Wallet Now Supports Atlanta’s MARTA Breeze Card

If you live around the Atlanta metro area and you commute via the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) regularly, I’ve got great news for you because starting earlier this week, the Apple Wallet app now officially supports MARTA’s Breeze Card, adding an extra layer of convenience for iPhone users who love to use their phone as their digital wallet. Earlier this month, Google Wallet and Samsung Wallet started supporting Breeze Cards, so it’s nice to see Apple Wallet adopting this transit card to stay ahead of its game.

Adding the Breeze Card to Apple Wallet is very straightforward. On the Wallet app, tap the plus (+) sign in the top-right corner, tap on “Transit Card”, and in the United States section, you should see the “Breeze” option. Once you tap on it, you’ll follow the steps to add the Breeze Card. You could either add stored value for you to pay per ride, or even save big with commute plans. If you have an Apple Watch, you can even add the Breeze Card to the Watch, and with Express Mode, you can simply hold your iPhone or Apple Watch near a payment terminal to pay for your ride, even when the said device is in locked or sleep mode. Don’t worry if the battery on your iPhone is dead because you can still use Express Mode as long as it’s within five hours after the battery is completely drained.

Having transit cards on Apple Wallet is such a convenient way to pay for rides without using a physical card, and that’s another step to ditching the (physical) wallet, as your phone is with you all the time.
