A Weibo post by Chinese leaker Fixed Focus Digital reports the upcoming foldable iPhone Ultra is on track for a September release and will feature “a robust vapor chamber cooling system” with strong thermal performance. Here’s what we know so far.
Recent reports point to Apple ramping up mass production of the iPhone Ultra ahead of its release in the fall, so we fully expect more information to come out as we approach the fall keynote event. Per the leaker, “Apple’s foldable iPhone has reportedly faced challenges during pre-assembly manufacturing, making the initial production ramp-up more difficult than expected,” but adds that the device is on-track for a September release.

A notable addition to this leak is the addition of a Vapor Chamber cooling design, originally announced for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. This enables the iPhone to maintain peak performance for longer periods while reducing the risk of thermal throttling.
The leaker says the cooling design is “impressive” with “particularly strong thermal performance,” which is impressive considering the iPhone Ultra is expected to be thinner than the Pro models and needs room for the foldable display and mechanisms.
The leaker adds that more news will be announced tomorrow, so stay tuned to the Appleosophy website and social channels for any updates.
