A few days ago, leaker Sonny Dickson, who has a solid track record when it comes to dummy model leaks, posted images of two third-party camera protectors designed to fit over the iPhone Ultra’s camera bump, which could give us a better picture of the colors that the iPhone Ultra is going to offer. As you could see from Sonny Dickson’s post on X, there are cutouts for two rear cameras, a pill-shaped one for the LED flash, and a smaller one for the LiDAR scanner.
Back in May, MacWorld claimed that the iPhone Ultra could come in two colors, which would be the tried and true silver/white finish alongside a darker indigo shade akin to the iPhone 17 Pro’s Deep Blue finish. The following month, the silver finish was reported as the first “confirmed” color, and a follow-up report indicated that the dark option might not be black.
As you may have asked, why won’t Apple offer more colors for the iPhone Ultra compared to the iPhone 18 Pro? More colors would add more assembly lines and thus lead to higher production expenses, and since the iPhone Ultra is expected to start as low as around $2,500, it may not be worth the expenses for Apple to offer more colors for such a more niche product. After all, the iPhone Ultra could see a much lower number of shipments from the initial production run.
If you remember the iPhone X, which marked a significant departure from previous iPhones at the time, it came in only silver and space gray. So this iPhone Ultra could mirror those color options in a similar way. The iPhone Ultra is expected to make its debut next month alongside the iPhone 18 Pro models.
