Apple keeps refining the software experience with every update, whilst also fixing security issues. According to Apple’s Security Update webpage, iOS 26.7, iPadOS 26.7, macOS Tahoe 26.7, and macOS Sequoia 15.8 contain fixes for several security vulnerabilities, including WebKit, Kernel, ImageIO, and more.
You will see these updates as an option, along with version 27, and you can choose to stay on version 26 if you’d like to. iOS 27 supports all devices that support iOS 26, including the iPhone 11 series from 2019. iPadOS 27, however, drops support for three iPads: iPad (8th generation), iPad Air (3rd generation), and iPad Pro (11-inch first generation) as they are powered by the A12/A12X Bionic chipsets. macOS 27 Golden Gate drops support for Macs with Intel chips, so it now supports all Macs with Apple Silicon (M1 and later).
If you have already installed iOS/iPadOS/macOS 27 on your device, you will NOT see this update.
