Earlier yesterday, we reported design details from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman on the upcoming smart home hub. Gurman said that the unreleased product could come in a “standard gray aluminum finish”, but we now have an even better picture of what colors this product may offer.

A reputable leaker who goes by “pdfu” on X has posted what setting up a Photo Face on the smart home hub would look like, and the screenshot that they uncovered provided more hints about this product.

As shown in the screenshot, the Photo Face setup screen will dynamically pick the background color of its preview art based on the color of the hardware that you picked. This means that the smart home hub will likely come in silver, space gray, starlight, and rose pink.

Even MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris’ discovery from August backs up this claim since he also uncovered the same four colors in the macOS 26.7 Release Candidate’s code, where it features the setup code for the codename J490.

Although Gurman didn’t indicate any colors besides the presumably space gray color, we’d just have to wait and see whether the additional colors would materialize.

To bring you up to speed, the smart home hub will largely resemble the iconic “sunflower” design of the iMac G4, with a 6-inch square display supported by an adjustable arm that’s connected to a hemispherical dome-shaped base.
