Valentine’s Day is here once again and whether or not you have a special someone in your life or not, we have some movies and TV show episodes that you can stream for the sake of Valentine’s Day.

These are picks by me. Some of these I have watched before an enjoyed, so if you do end up watching one of these, I guess you can say that you have my approval to watch these films and episodes, especially on Valentine’s Day.

Streaming:

  • Stuck in Love: This is a great movie for both young and old people. It is a story of a family of writers, one of which is somewhat recently divorced and the other two are finding their “first love.” The film is available to stream on Prime Video.
  • The Vanishing of Sidney Hall: If you watch the trailer to this, it does not look like it would be the kind of film that would be something you would want to watch on Valentine’s Day. However, there is a romantic element to it that does get into a significant part of the story. I won’t spoil it for you, but you can find it on Prime Video.
  • The Edge of Seventeen: Again, it may not meet traditional “chick-flick” Valentine’s Day movie standards, but this movie is good, more so for young couples out there. The movie can be found on Netflix.
  • Definitely, Maybe: I have not seen this one, but it does take a look at relationships and looks like it might have that Valentine’s Day movie feel to it. Again, the movie is on Netflix.
  • The Theory of Everything: If you are wanting to watch a tear-jerker, then this would be the way to go. It tells the life of Stephen Hawking and the horrible disease that he got that basically prevented him from living a normal. The movie can be found on Netflix.
  • Set It Up: This is a nice little Netflix film that came out last summer. It’s about two workers that find each other and try to set their mean bosses up with one another. I think you know how this one might end. It is available to watch on Netflix.

Rental:

  • The Perks of Being a Wallflower: Honestly, this might be my favorite non-tech movie of all-time. The book will always be the best, but the movie is a very close second. It can be rented on iTunes for $5.99. With that said, be sure to look and see if your local Target or Walmart has it in-stock since it could be a little cheaper than the iTunes rental price.
  • The Fault in Our Stars: This is another great book-to-film. The cast for the film is great and the story is there as well. If you are looking for a both happy and sad movie to watch on Valentine’s Day, this could be a great movie to look into. iTunes has the regular version priced at $4.99 for the rental. However, you can rent the extended version for only $3.99.
  • Paper Towns: John Green’s second book-to-film (the first one being The Fault in Our Stars) is a good movie for Valentine’s Day. The romantic element is there and only costs $3.99 on iTunes.
  • Friends With Benefits: For those looking for something a little more raunchy, this is a good film that shows that when you least expect it, you can find “the one” for you. It currently runs for $3.99 as a rental on iTunes.
  • Me Before You: Lastly, we thought we had to include this one since it did have an Ed Sheehan song played in the trailer and the fact that it does give off that romance and “chick-flick” vibe to it. Like with most of these films mentioned here, this film is $3.99 on iTunes.

TV Shows

  • Last Man Standing (Season 3 Episode 15 “Tasers”): Available to stream on Hulu.
  • Last Man Standing (Season 5 Episode 14 “The Ring”): Available to stream on Hulu.
  • How I Met Your Mother (Season 7 Episode 6 “Mystery vs History”): Available to stream on Hulu.
    • This one does have its own Valentine’s Day pack on iTunes that is available for purchase at $14.99, which includes six episodes.
  • The Big Bang Theory (Season 6 Episode 16 “The Tangible Affection Proof”): Good luck finding this one! You might be able to stream it from TBS on-demand via their app or a live TV streaming service.
  • Doctor Who (Season 8 Episode 8 “Mummy on the Orient Express”): Available to stream on Prime Video.

Those are the movies and TV episodes that I am personally recommending to stream for Valentine’s Day 2019. I have not watched all of the films myself, but that is just because I am not a big movie guy.
