Last week, we noted that Apple Pay may be coming soon to the Czech Republic based off a rumor we had heard from 9to5Mac. It would appear as though the day has come where they do indeed have Apple Pay now.
According to AppleInsider, they have officially reported that Apple Pay is now available in the Czech Republic. It had been rumored last summer that it would come to the Czech Republic, but instead, it came several months later.
The banks in the Czech Republic that are supporting are Air Bank, Ceska sporitelna, MONETA Money Bank and Twisto. The Twisto cards use MasterCard as their card source.
This all comes thanks to a tweet from @pykasonet on Twitter that reads (in English):
All right, it’s really working 🙂 #ApplePay #airbank #cesko
The image that @pykasonet tweeted showing that his bank in the Czech Republic now accepts Apple Pay.
On top of this, it has also been said that Saudi Arabia has Apple Pay as of today as well. The banks that are supporting Apple Pay over there are Saudi Payments Network (MADA), Alinma Bank, Bank Aljazira, Al Rajhi Bank, the National Commercial Bank and Riyad Bank, with the cards being backed by both Visa and Mastercard.
Again, according to AppleInsider, Apple tossed out the idea of support in Saudi Arabia in October 2018, but did not say anything in terms of when it would launch there.
It has not been said whether or not the Czech Republic or Saudi Arabia will have Apple Pay Cash, but we are hoping that Apple does put out some form of press release that will confirm those details. We will update this article if we get any more necessary information.
