Uber made an announcement today about the fact that UberEats, the mobile food delivering service, will now be accepting Apple Pay.
To use this, the service will allow you to use Apple Pay right from its iOS app. It will work the same way to make a purchase with Apple Pay as it does in apps like the McDonald’s or Target app.
Other food delivery services like GrubHub, Postmates and Seamless already accepted Apple Pay, so this could also be a way for UberEats to be more competitive with other services. UberEats has also accepted other previous payment methods such as Venmo and PayPal.
According to TechCrunch, Apple Pay in the UberEats will be coming to 20 markets which are, “Belgium, Canada, France, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and United States.”
