Just last week, Apple released macOS Catalina to the public. With that came the loss of iTunes, which has now been separated into three different apps: Apple Music, Apple Podcasts and the new Apple TV app.
This is the first time on the Mac that there is a dedicated Apple Music app, whereas previously, it was all done in iTunes.
In my experience with using the app, I found it to be pretty easy to use it. It is one of those apps where it feels like it iTunes without all of the bugs and confusion. It’s all of your music in one app. Want to add another song to your library or to a playlist? The app easily allows you to do so.
The look of it is simplistic like its iOS counterpart. If you are one that has used a Mac and Apple Music as a whole before, then this should not be too much of a learning curve to you. Also, it looks great in Dark Mode!
As for any flaws, the only one that I could find was that it does take a little bit of time sometimes for it to load new songs. However, this could just as well be a slight issue with my internet or the area where I was playing music from the Apple Music app on my MacBook Pro, which was in my kitchen where the WiFi is not so great.
Other than that though, for a launch day app, this is a pretty good app. I’d say it deserves an easy 4/4 star rating because I certainly have no issues with the looks or functionality of it.
