Another weekend has come for the world of streaming TV. The good news is that we have just what you’re looking for when it comes to what to stream this weekend and over the course of next week.
Let’s get started!
TV:
- Looking for Alaska (Hulu Original): This new Hulu Original mini-series and is based on the book by John Green. We won’t spoil the plot for you, but the show will run for eight episodes, all of which will be on Hulu.
- Modern Love (Prime Original): Another original TV series is premiering today on Prime Video. The show is about a group of people who are going through all the good and bad inside the world of love, romance, marriage and relationships. It has a star-studded cast with actors such as Anne Hathaway, Dev Patel, Tina Fey, John Slattery and Cristin Milioti. The first season of the show will have eight episodes.
- Castle Rock (Season 2/Hulu Original): The second season of this TV show will premiere on Hulu on October 23, 2019.
Movies:
- Lion King (2019 version): The 2019 version of the Lion King film was just released recently but was overshadowed by the Toy Story 4 DVD release as well. With that said, you can currently download the 2019 version of the Lion King on the Apple TV app for $19.99.
- Dave Chappelle: Sticks and Stones: This was a comedy special that Chappelle recently did that did generate some controversy. Still, I’m going to recommend it since even though I have not seen it myself, it is said to be very good and quite hilarious. It can be found to stream on Netflix.
- Wonder: In what is supposedly one of the most courageous movies of 2017, it can be found to stream on a few streaming platforms such as Hulu, Prime Video and EPIX.
Halloween Movies:
- Hotel Transylvania movies: Alright, so it’s no secret that the Hotel Transylvania movies have been quite successful and a great Halloween-like movie for kids. With that said, this one is going to take a little while to explain when it comes to streaming it. For the first Hotel Transylvania movie, it can currently be streamed from the Freeform. You will need your TV provider credentials in order to get access to watching it. The same can be said for Hotel Transylvania 2, but instead, it is on the FX Now app that also requires your TV provider credentials. Lastly, Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation, can be found to stream on Netflix.
- Monsters Inc: A movie all about monsters should get the kids excited for Halloween once more this year. Sadly, there are no streaming options for it at this time. It can be rented on the Apple TV app for $3.99.
- Good Witch: Curse From a Rose (TV movie premiere): For once, we are putting a live TV listing on here. This is a series that has done well in ratings on Hallmark Channel for years. The 2019 Halloween special for the series will premiere on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at 8 p.m. ET on Hallmark Channel. It is expected to be a two-hour long special.
