I have always been a fan of the Mac App Store ever since I got my first Mac in 2014, which was the mid-2012 MacBook Pro. I was able to replace that this year with a new 2017 MacBook Pro.
I use my MacBook Pro almost every single day of the week. It is one of my favorite devices to use on the daily and is a device where I truly get some of my best work done.
With that said, here are all of the apps that I have purchased this year that made me spend over $100 in the Mac App Store this year:
- Pixelmator Pro ($39.99/Review): I bought this one while at an airport over the summer. It’s not Adobe Photoshop, but has almost all of the same functions and only makes it so that it’s a one-time purchase and I can get the work done in it that I need to do.
- Fantastical 2 ($22/Opinion): So, technically I got the student discount with this one, making it only $22. Still, it has been an app that I have used a lot throughout the year and definitely makes my life more organized. It’s also good for putting reminders in too. The fact that I can do it all on my MacBook Pro and it syncs with both my iPhone and iPad is another worry off my mind too.
- Deliveries ($4.99/Review): This was a small purchase, but it is a good app that lets me see where my packages are and sends me notifications of when they move and when they have been delivered.
- CARROT Weather ($14.99/Review): I for one am not a fan of local media when it comes to their meteorologists because I have seen them post forecasts that CARROT Weather didn’t have and then having CARROT’s forecast be the true one. I’m not saying this is for all local weather meteorologists, but needless to say, I have my suspicions.
- Scrivener 3 ($48.99): I literally just purchased this app last night and it is essentially a promise to myself to write a book because that is something that I would like to do in my lifetime. This app is designed to help create and write the book in an organized fashion. Hopefully I’ll be able to start on that next year.
The overall amount of money that I spent in the Mac App Store this year alone was $130.96 before taxes. Yes, I spent a lot of money in it this year, but I use my Mac apps to get stuff done, so this is not money wasted.
I don’t hope to spend that much again next year, but if it happens, it happens. I won’t fight it. If I need it, I need it. If I don’t, I don’t.
