Review: myCharge Razor Plus Portable Charger

While my family and I were on vacation at Mall of America less than a couple weeks ago, I knew that we were going to be out late and with my iPhone 6 at already 65 percent charge, I knew that I nor the iPhone were going to make it through the day. And with that realization, I walked over to Best Buy and purchased this external battery for my iPhone.

This product design wise looks stunning in-person due to the fact that it has an aluminum body and a slim design. This makes it easy to have in your pocket and you don’t feel like your sitting on a giant battery. Instead, it feels like you have your smartphone in your back pocket, nothing more.

It’s also great in my 13-inch CaseCrown Messenger bag. There is a pouch right on the inside-cover that the batter fits into perfectly. This makes it so that it is not an inconvenience to carry an external battery with you. It never hurts to have one just in case.

Another feature that I liked is that you shake it in order to find out how much battery is left in it. As much as I would like to see an actual battery percentage number, the four dots will suffice.

Once my iPhone’s battery got down to 47 percent in charge, I plugged the charging cable into this and tested how much it would charge by the time it ran out. To my surprise, it charged my iPhone up to 98 percent and it still had four dots for battery. I was very impressed.

Best of all, it works for almost any other electronic device you have, whether it be an iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, or Android smartphone. It is truly a jack of all trades!

The only cons I saw out of it were that it comes with this very tiny micro-USB cable that does not give it the most efficient way to charge the battery. Personally, I think it should have been just as long as the standard Apple Lightning cables that come with their products or one that was just a little shorter than that.

Overall, the myCharge Razor Plus external battery gets 4/4 stars for its slim body and design, along with being able to charge my iPhone and other tech products in an adequate amount of time with juice to burn.

Rating: 4/4 stars
