How to Get a Student Discount on Fantastical 2 for Mac

Avatar for David Becker

Fantastical 2 is one of the most popular and expensive apps on the Mac App Store. With that said, the app does cost $49.99 right now and it is not as well-known, but the app developers, Flexibits, do indeed have a student discount on the app.

So, how do you get this student discount you might ask? It’s not as hard as it might sound!

Essentially, what you are going to have to do is go to this website and enter your college email address. On top of that, you will have to submit a photo of your college ID card. From there, it will have to be approved of by the developers and then you will get an email from the developers that gives you the discount.

The student discount itself gives you 20 percent off the app, which brings the price down to $39.99. Yes, the discount is only $10 off the original asking price of the app, but it is certainly better than nothing.

When you have received the email with your discount, you will be taken to a page outside of the Mac App Store that will allow you to purchase and download the app at the $39.99 price. Note that the discount for this only lasts three weeks of signing up to get the discount, so make sure you get it when you can. Also, you will not be able to pay for the app from this page with an iTunes or App Store gift card.

I should also point out that this does work for people in the military as well. You will have to do all of the steps with the student discount process, but instead of submitting a college ID, you will submit some form of military card or proof that you are indeed in the military.

This can be a great idea and purchase for students and members in the military looking to treat themselves this Christmas and holidays season. Fantastical 2 is also available on the the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Apple Watch, but is not included in the student discount.
