Wipr is an app in the App Store that enables users to block ads like you would on your Mac or Windows computer via a browser extension. The only difference now is that you have to have the app on your iPhone or iPad in order to get no ads.

Please note that this will not be able to make apps like YouTube ad-free. This is merely for those who are streaming videos or reading articles through a web browser like Safari.

In my experience with this app, it does exactly what I need it to do. I tend to read a lot of articles online, so it is nice to not see the ads, as it creates a more minimalistic, not as high-maintenance, easier way to read articles on.

In addition to this, there have been times when I have looked up YouTube videos from Safari on both my iPhone and iPad and there have been no ads on the videos.

I’d give this app 4/4 stars for its simplicity and the fact that it does what I want it to do. The app does cost $1.99 in the App Store, which could be frowned upon by some when it comes to actually paying for an ad-blocker app. It does offer in-app purchases, but those are on if you want to tip or donate to the developers of the app. Wipr is available on the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.

Additionally, Wipr is available on the Mac from the Mac App Store for $1.99. There is a Safari extension that you can get for free that will give you an ad-free experience, which you can find here.
