Cole Haan is said to be dropping support from their retail stores. This comes after an email that was sent to employees about the company planning on dropping Apple Pay support in their stores.
In a memo from the company, it states the following:
“Cole Haan will be deactivating contactless payment at Pin Pad/Point of Sale. Examples of this are Apple Pay and Google Wallet. Customers will no longer be able to use digital wallets to make purchases. Credit cards will be inserted (for cards with a chip) or swiped (for cards with no chip)…”
The company does not give an exact reason for this, but from here on out, customers will have to either put their credit/debit card in the chip reader or swipe their credit/debit card if it does not have a chip on it.
However, at this time, you can still use Apple Pay on Cole Haan’s website. It works on their iPhone and iPad version of the site, as well as using it on the Mac.
