It was announced earlier today that Hulu with Live TV is going to see an increase in price starting as early as next month.
Starting in December 2019, the price of Hulu with Live TV will be increased by $10 and be $54.99 a month, whereas right now, it currently sits at $44.99 a month. Current users of the service will get the new price in their December bill. New customers that sign up in December will simply get the new price of Hulu with Live TV.
The reason for the increased price is currently unknown, but given the fact that Hulu has added new channels to their live TV streaming platform over the last several months, that likely means that they are having to pay more to get those channels added to their channel lineup.
It could also be due to people switching plans as they feel. This means that those who prefer to watch college football from August-January, but then go back to the ad tier ($5.99 a month) or ad-free ($11.99 a month) versions that are significantly cheaper than the Live TV package ($44.99 a month before December 2019).
Hulu has also made upgrades to the look of their service, such as adding a new channel guide earlier this year that allows for their users to have a better view of what is currently on for them to stream.
Hulu with Live right now has over 60 live channels on its service, which is an increase of 10 more channels when the service launched in May 2017.
All versions of Hulu (ad tier, ad-free and Live TV) are available to stream on the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Apple TV and Mac.
