Disney has been planning on updating older episodes of the beloved animated comedy “The Simpsons” for several months on Disney+
Well, the day has come where Disney+ users are seeing an option to watch those said older episodes of the TV series in its original 4:3 aspect ration. Previously, they were only available in 16:9, which made users get the whole screen filled with the episode, whereas, with the 4:3 aspect ratio, they will get letterboxes on the side of the episode they are watching.
The difference in viewing qualities can be seen in the photos below:
What makes this a little more interesting is that to appease Disney+ users who might like having the 16:9 aspect ratio and the ones who will want the 4:3 version, Disney+ is enabling users to have both versions and allowing them to switch to the version they want to view.
