Gurman: Entry-level M2 MacBook Pro with no Touch Bar to launch this year

Earlier this month at the “One More Thing” event, Apple announced the new MacBook Pro and MacBook Air with M1 Silicon Processor. This has become a big step forward in their Mac Lineup as Apple has decided to move on from the Intel Processor and build their own dedicated Chips just like they do for the iPhone, iPad, AirPods, and the Apple Watch.

Apple had only announced a 13-inch model of both the Air and Pro which took the viewers by surprise as they expected the 16-inch variant of the MacBook Pro to be released alongside it.

According to the latest report by LeaksApplePro, Apple has started working on the 16-inch MacBook Pro but with a faster 12 cores M1X Processor. It is going to be faster and more efficient than the first-generation of the M1 chip which came with 8 cores. The first 8 cores of the M1X Processor will be dedicated for the High Performance while the remaining 4 will be optimized for Power Efficiency. The M1X will perform the same performance as compared to the existing Intel i9 Processor.

This 16-inch MacBook Pro will most probably be launched in a “Press Release” next year instead of a dedicated event. A 14-inch MacBook Pro, new iMac with the new Apple Silicon are also lined up for launch next year.
