Apple is rumored to reveal a new Apple Music tier that includes Hi-Fi and new 3rd gen AirPods.
Hits Double Daily reports that Apple will launch new 3rd gen AirPods alongside a higher tier version of Apple Music that supports high-fidelity audio streaming to compete with Spotify’s similar upcoming tier.
New AirPods could arrive with a similar design to the current AirPods Pro but might lose pro features like noise cancellation. The new Hi-Fi tier will cost $9.99/mo, the same price as the standard individual tier subscription.
The source says that the two rumored products will be announced in a “couple of weeks”.
Apple held a “Spring Loaded” event last month and announced many hardware products like iMac, iPad Pro, AirTag, Apple TV 4K, and a purple iPhone 12 but we did not see any new audio product announcements.
But that is not all, because Cupertino will hold another event in June, being WWDC 2021, even though it is a software-focused event showing new versions of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS, hardware products are a possibility.
