Apple has announced the third generation of the regular AirPods with nice improvements including sweat/water resistant, Spatial Audio, and MagSafe charging for $179. Apple continues to offer the previous generation of AirPods from 2019 at a much lower price of $129, bringing much more customers into the wireless audio experience. Although the AirPods Pro wasn’t feature in today’s event, one change the company did make was the addition of MagSafe wireless charging.
The wireless charging case included with AirPods Pro now includes MagSafe, so AirPods Pro can now work with any MagSafe charging systems designed for both iPhone 12/13 and AirPods 3. The updated AirPods Pro with MagSafe case is available at the same price of $249. Know that the MagSafe cable is not included, but instead a Lightning to USB-C cable. You would have to shell out $39 to take advantage of MagSafe charging. Other wireless Qi chargers will still work with the updated AirPods Pro.
