Review: AirPods Max in 2022

Late last year, I decided that it was time for me to purchase a pair of AirPods Max to make my music listening experience much better.

This purchase came about a month after I made my AirPods 3 purchase, which has been good to use when my AirPods Max have not been available to use or I am out in public.

However, I have been using these AirPods Max for another couple of months or so and believe that these Bluetooth headphones are quite incredible.

My favorite feature of the AirPods Max is the noise-canceling feature. That feature in itself has kept me hooked on these things because of how convenient they are. By simply hitting a button on the right cup of the AirPods Max, I can basically get rid of almost all of the noise around me.

If you’re an introvert like me, you’re left wondering where these have been my whole life?

The noise-canceling feature makes the music experience better too. I listen to a lot of score/classical music and these headphones make the music feel more alive. If you close your eyes, you might think that you’re in the room where the music is being performed.

When listening to pop or rock music, you can head the bass well. Voices and lyrics sound clearer too.

Other aspects of the AirPods Max that I like are that the battery lasts a while and it does not take too long to charge. In 2022, that feature is crucial, especially when you need to have a private call.

Speaking of which, the calls on these with noise-canceling on make it so you can focus more so on the call. No need to worry about your arm getting tired of holding the phone or worrying about a regular AirPod falling out.

In terms of design, they are a little different looking compared to other headphones on the market. I do like the “headband” across the top of it. The material is soft and doesn’t feel like it will fall apart after a year, which is what happened with my old Beats Solo HD headphones I had in college, not to mention the headband on those headphones would make my head sweat. Very weird.

The only improvement I would make to these headphones is to get them to weigh less. Sometimes if I have had my AirPods Max on for a while, I feel like my ears are going to fall off or hurt. Granted, that could just be my ears and their size and shape, but I’m just saying it’s something Apple could look into.

Overall, in 2022, these headphones are the ones I would recommend to anyone with the budget to get. They get 4/4 stars in my opinion. They are headphones that work the way headphones should and then some.

Rating: 4/4 stars
