We have known since late last year that Wendy’s has plans to implement Apple Pay into its restaurants.
This has been seen in the past few weeks, such as some Wendy’s restaurants getting new POS terminals to begin accepting Apple Pay inside the locations, as well as the option for customers that could use it in the drive-thru.
As of today, Apple Pay is being accepted in the company’s iOS app.
The update came in Version 9.3.3 of the app that has the following description:
“Basketball ain’t the only thing that’s bonkers.
We’re going all-in on insane app offers. Mobile order a $1 Dave’s Single® every single day (2/28 ”“ 4/10). Literally all of breakfast is half off (2/28 ”“ 4/1). See? This is what being the Official Hamburger and Official Breakfast of March Madness® does to restaurants. See app for details.
Apple Pay. You want it, you got it.
What good is Apple Pay if you can’t use it on the Wendy’s app? That was an excellent question that you asked us. So we answered it. Now, you CAN use Apple Pay to place an order of Wendy’s food from its mobile app. Good call, you.”
This means that Apple Pay can be used for purchases in the app, whether the intended use is for eating inside the restaurants or picking up an order in the drive-thru.
Customers that pay with Apple Card will also get 2% in Daily Cash on each purchase they make with Apple Card in the Wendy’s app.

Additonally, Apple Pay is now also supported on Wendy’s website, according to @ContactlessWiki on Twitter.
