In an unusual move from Apple, Apple has a special deal for its Apple TV lineup. Until and including July 14, customers can buy either an Apple TV HD or Apple TV 4K at the Apple Store with a $50 Apple Gift Card included. The footnote at bottom of Apple TV’s web page provides some important details regarding the deal:
- Only one Apple Gift Card can be offered per eligible Apple TV
- Each customer can purchase a maximum of two Apple TVs.
- Only the Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K are eligible for this offer while supplies last.
- The $50 Gift Card can redeemed towards other products that Apple sells, but it cannot be used for the purchased Apple TV itself.
The current Apple TV 4K was introduced in April 2021 with a redesigned Siri Remote with Click Wheel-like functionality. Apple could be offering this deal to try to attract more customers into buying an Apple TV and even try Apple TV+. Another possibility is that the company could be preparing for a next generation model with a more modern A14 chip, and the company would need to clear out inventory to make room for that model.
Although it might not be one of the best discounts for an Apple TV, the purchase does provide more value as you get an extra $50 towards a future Apple Product purchase. For example, you can use that gift card towards the HomePod mini to expand Apple’s ecosystem at home. Finally, Apple has ongoing deals for back-to-school with included gift cards up to $150 when you purchase either a Mac or iPad.
