Following the biggest product announcements from Apple, there are a number of products that are discontinued. Some of them we saw it coming, while for others, we weren’t expecting.
First, with the introduction of the second generation of AirPods Pro, there’s no room for the original AirPods Pro in the lineup. The latest AirPods Pro offers many nice improvements for Apple’s most popular headphones with Active Noise Cancellation. This includes the H2 chip, improved ANC and Transparency mode, touch controls for quick volume adjustments, and a built-in speaker for Find My.
Second, Apple discontinued the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. This comes as no surprise as Apple has discontinued the previous generation Pro models every year when new ones come out. Most surprisingly, the iPhone 12 mini was also discontinued, and the company still sells the regular iPhone 12 at a lower price. Therefore, the only mini form factor in the current iPhone lineup is the iPhone 13 mini. Just recently, Apple has added certified refurbished iPhone 12 mini models to its online store. However, the stock for those models does come and go, and they’re now out of stock as of the time of this post. However, if you’re still interested in a smaller iPhone, do consider the iPhone 13 mini over the 12 mini. You’ll get better battery life as well as increased storage when you go with the base model.
Last, but not least, the Apple Watch Series 3. That model was definitely due for discontinuation as it was the oldest Apple Watch that the company sells until today. Not to mention that it had very antiquated specs and would not support the upcoming watchOS 9. So it’s absolutely good riddance for that old duck.
