The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) has reported that Apple is said to be making a new journaling app for iOS 17. While there is no official name for it yet, the code for the project appears to be called “Jurassic.”
This app would be for the iPhone and enable the user to write about their daily life and activities, as well as add photos and videos to each journal entry. It has been said the app will incorporate other apps into entries too, but in a way to ensure proper privacy for users.
Journaling is said to be a great way for someone to manage their mental health and is an overall good habit to get into.
Right now in the journaling app category in the App Store, Day One Journal by Bloom Built Inc is said to be one of the top competitors in that area and is currently in the top 10 of apps in the Health & Fitness section in the App Store.
Founder of Day One Journal Paul Mayne spoke with the WSJ about this new Apple journaling app and stated that the app could be a “me too” feature of iOS 17.
“It’s always the worst thing to have to hear that you’re about to be sherlocked,” he said.
Day One Journal is currently available on the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac.
