Apple has started rolling out the third developer beta of watchOS 10 with important bug fixes, according to Apple’s Developer Webpage. This update comes two weeks after the release of the second beta of watchOS 10.
Last month at WWDC 2023, Apple announced watchOS 10 with a new Design Language, changes to Navigation, New Watch Faces, Last Cellular Connection Waypoint, calorimetry for e-biking, Fall Detection, and advanced new metrics for cycling.
In addition to these features, users can also use the Digital Crown on their Apple Watch to log their momentary emotions and daily moods in the Mindfulness app. Using the Ambient Light Sensor on the Watch, it can now measure time spent in daylight as well.
Users who are registered as a developer on www.developer.apple.com can opt-in to receive beta updates by going into the Watch App on their iPhone and navigating to My Watch>General>Software Update>Beta Updates and selecting watchOS 10 Developer Beta. Do note that this version is not stable and is meant for testing purposes.
Users will also be able to sign up as a Public Beta Tester for iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS 14 Sonoma, watchOS 10, and tvOS 17 on www.beta.apple.com as they are ‘Coming Soon’.
watchOS 10 is compatible with the following Apple Watch models:
- Apple Watch Series 4
- Apple Watch Series 5
- Apple Watch Series 6
- Apple Watch SE (1st generation and 2nd generation)
- Apple Watch Series 7
- Apple Watch Series 8
- Apple Watch Ultra
Additionally, users will also need to have iPhone XS, iPhone XR or later running iOS 17 in order to update to watchOS 10.
Along with watchOS 10 Beta 3, Apple also released the third developer betas of iOS 17, iPadOS 17, tvOS 17, and macOS Sonoma. These softwares will be released to the public this fall, most likely in September.
