Apple TV 4K users can stream three college football games in 4K on September 9

We’re heading to the third weekend of the college football season (technically week two of the season) and there will be more games available in 4K this Saturday.

Most of the games will be broadcast on FOX. However, we will have our first 4K game of the season broadcast on ESPN too.

Here are the following games that will be available to stream in 4K for Apple TV 4K users this Saturday:

  • 12 p.m. ET: Colorado vs. Nebraska – FOX
  • 3: 30 p.m. ET: Iowa vs. Iowa State – FOX
  • 7 p.m. ET: Texas vs. Alabama – ESPN

The way to stream these games in 4K on FOX is through two methods.

Our first method will be through the YouTube TV and fuboTV live TV streaming services. Both of them offer the FOX 4K channels which will be showing the 4K through the 4K feed. YouTube TV users will need the 4K add-on with the service which costs an additional $9.99 a month.

The most convenient way to get access to the 4K stream will be through the tvOS FOX Sports app. All the user will have to do is sign in with their TV provider to the app and as long as your TV plan has FOX as a channel on it, you will be able to stream the game from the app and view it in 4K on their Apple TV 4K.

When it comes to the ESPN game, that one can only be streamed through YouTube TV and DirecTV Stream, according to TVAnswerman.com.

ESPN does broadcast the games in “native 4K” thanks to cameras that are available at the stadium and on-site. FOX Sports’ 4K broadcasts “are produced in 1080p HD and then upscaled to 4K for the home transmission.”
