After the Apple Event, where Apple revealed the new iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro, the company has discontinued the iPhone 13 mini. The iPhone 13 mini was revealed around September 2021 with a 5.4-inch OLED display and A15 Bionic chip.
The iPhone 13 mini can still be purchased at retailers and carriers such as Best Buy or T-Mobile until supplies last.
Our writer Pururaj Dutta wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on September 10, two days before the Apple Event on why Apple would discontinue the device:
“Here’s why I believe that the #iPhone13mini might be discontinued by Apple or receive an unusual price tag after the launch of the #iPhone15 series. The #iPhone13mini currently starts at $599, while the #iPhone13 starts at $699. When the iPhone 15 comes out, it will start at $799. This will bring down the price of the iPhone 13 even further to $599 and the iPhone 13 mini to $499, which seems promising. However, there’s a problem: the #iPhoneSE (3rd Generation) starts at $429, making it $70 cheaper than the #iPhone13mini after the #iPhone15 is released. Both the iPhone 13 mini and the iPhone SE (3rd Generation) share the same A15 Bionic Chip. Several factors make the iPhone 13 mini a better choice. In terms of form factor, the #iPhone13mini is smaller than the iPhone SE (3rd Generation) and is more comfortable to hold. It would make sense for Apple, from a business perspective, to either keep the price of the iPhone 13 mini at $549 or discontinue the model. Given that it’s the last mini iPhone, Apple might want to keep it in the lineup. Apple could potentially achieve this by reducing the price of the iPhone SE to $399. This way, they can keep the price of the iPhone 13 mini at $499. A similar situation occurred last year with the iPhone 12 mini, which was discontinued, as I had predicted correctly.”

Users who want a smaller or cheaper device can purchase the iPhone SE (3rd-generation) which starts at $429 with a 4.7-inch display.
