Apple seems to be looking to launch another new version of the Apple TV 4K but not until next year.
If this new Apple TV 4K were to launch next year, it would be about two years after its current one has been on the market.
With that said, Apple is said to be keeping the same design of the Apple TV that we have seen with the Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K. However, it has been reported by MacRumors that the company is looking to lower the price to something possibly more consumer-friendly around $100.
The current Apple TV 4K starts at $129 with 64GB with no Ethernet port.
When it comes to the processors on the new Apple TV 4K, it will likely have the same processor as either the iPhone 14 or iPhone 15, or iPhone 15 Pro. Of course, nothing has been confirmed yet and these are merely just predictions based off reports in the field.
The Apple TV 4K needs a good processor not only for video and content playback, but also so the performance of tvOS is smooth and polished, as well as for Apple Arcade usage which does have some high-quality games on it that could require the need for a higher-level of processor.
As for the release date, it has been stated that the new Apple TV 4K could be coming in the first half of 2024. Historically speaking, Apple has released previous Apple TV models in the spring and fall, so it might not be too surprising if the company were to push back the release date from the spring to the fall.
