When Apple introduced the Vision Pro last June, the company said that the spatial computing device would feature the powerful M2 chip along with the first-generation R1 chip, which would allow real-time processing for camera and sensor inputs. However, Apple has yet to reveal any details regarding the specs of the M2 chip. Currently, there are two versions of the M2 chip – a binned variant with 8 CPU cores and 8 GPU cores and an unbinned variant with 8 CPU cores and 10 GPU cores.
Now, Mark Gurman from Bloomberg has indicated that the Vision Pro will come with the unbinned M2 chip. This is the same chip that’s used in the 13-inch* and 15-inch MacBook Air as well as the iPad Pro. As stated in previous reports, Vision Pro will be equipped with 16GB of unified memory and will start at 256GB of storage, and it can be configured with up to 1TB of storage.
Vision Pro will start at $3,499. Preorders of Vision Pro will start this Friday, January 19. Availability will start on Friday, February 2. You should order the Vision Pro through an upcoming update to the Apple Store app on an iPhone or iPad model with Face ID for the best size fit for the band.
