As preorders for Vision Pro started last Friday, Apple also published the tech specs page for that spatial computer. Initially, it mentioned that Vision Pro would support video mirroring from an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, Apple TV, or an AirPlay-enabled device to Vision Pro via AirPlay at 1080p resolution.

However, Apple has now corrected that error on that page, saying that video mirroring will be at 720p resolution. Vision Pro features both the M2 chip and the R1 chip, which are both modern and capable enough for everyday tasks. In spite of this, it’s possible that Apple has tested the AirPlay functionality on the Vision Pro thoroughly, but the internal testing results didn’t achieve Apple’s standards due to unoptimized performance. Nonetheless, it’s still impressive that Vision Pro still works with Apple devices from as far back as 2010, specifically devices that supported iOS 4. Even today’s Macs recognize the earliest iPod models when you sync your music to them.

Vision Pro, powered by the M2 and R1 chips, starts at $3,499 with 256GB of storage and 16GB of unified memory. Vision Pro is also available with 512GB of storage ($3,699) and 1TB of storage ($3,899). Vision Pro includes several accessories in the box such as the special branded Polishing Cloth. You can pre-order today, and availability will start on Friday, February 2. You’ll need a device with Face ID to order one so that it can determine the right sizing for the headband.
