While we’re preparing for the launch of Apple Vision Pro, let’s talk about the battery for a bit. It’s included in Vision Pro, but if you want to buy it separately or need a second battery, it’ll set you back for $199.

The battery has a smooth, machined aluminum enclosure with a built-in USB-C cable to plug it in to charge and connect to a power source. You may be wondering whether the woven cable is removable.

Ray Wong from Inverse has now confirmed that it is indeed removable. You’ll just need to use a SIM-eject tool to unplug that cable from the battery. Once you remove that cable, it looks a lot like a Lightning cable, expect it has more pins and is a bit wider too.

Having a removable cable from the battery allows technicians to service the battery when using the right tool whether the cable malfunctions or the battery itself. Having two separate components is a more eco-friendly approach similar to having a charing cable and power adapter separately.
