In a time where Americans across the country are looking to cut costs and perhaps stream movies for free with ads as opposed to paying for another streaming service, Amazon is looking to potentially make a major change in the ad-supported streaming market.
It has been reported by AdWeek that Amazon will be discontinuing Amazon Freevee, its free and entirely ad-supported streaming service.
Earlier this year, Amazon did make a change to Prime Video so that there is an ad-supported version of it for users to watch for a monthly a fee, on top of watching advertisements during content.
An exact date for the discontinuation of Freevee has not been officially said yet, but AdWeek says it could be happening in the second quarter of 2024.
Freevee was previously iMDB TV before it was rebranded to “Amazon Freevee” in April 2022.
The good news for viewers and consumers is that there are other alternatives for entirely ad-supported streaming services still such as Tubi, Pluto TV, Crackle, and PLEX.
Amazon Freevee is still currently available to stream on the iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Mac, as well as the previously other mentioned ad-supported streaming services.

I will miss it. There were some good movies on it that were not on the other streaming services.
