The iPhone 15 Pro Max features an exclusive tetraprism lens that allows for 5x optical zoom and 25x digital zoom. Now, it has been rumored again by TrendForce that the advanced lens system is expected to make its way to the next-generation smaller sibling as well – the iPhone 16 Pro.
We’ve heard about this rumor before with reputable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and other sources. Currently, the iPhone 15 Pro has a Pro Camera System that supports up to 3x optical zoom. We’ve seen camera features first found on the higher-end Pro Max model trickle down to the smaller Pro model the following year. For example, the iPhone 12 Pro Max introduced sensor-shift optimization before it became standard on the 13 Pro/Pro Max the following year.
Another change that we can expect for both the iPhone 16 Pro/Pro Max models is increases in screen sizes with 6.3- and 6.9-inches respectively, which will allow more space for the advanced tetraprism lens. Just like clockwork, we can expect the next-generation iPhone 16 models to be introduced this September.
