As first spotted by Nicolás Álvarez, Apple today published several support documents that suggest that Apple will expand its self-service repair program to the recently announced M3 Macs soon. Last October, Apple updated both the iMac and MacBook Pro lineup with the next-generation series of M3 chips.

For those not familiar with Apple’s self-service program, it’s an official, certified program that allows customers to purchase genuine Apple components and tools to repair several Apple products at their own homes. For very experienced users who know how to repair electronics, this eliminates the need to go to an Apple Store or make an appointment.

It was first introduced in the U.S. in 2022, and it has offered right-to-repair service for iPhone, Mac, and Apple display models. At the time of this posting, the newly published support documents reference several part numbers. However, Apple has not made some of those available on its Self-Service Repair Store, but Apple will surely update its store when its expansion to M3 Macs goes live.
