Surprise! You heard that right! After several weeks of delays for the upcoming release of new iPads, we initially thought we wouldn’t see an Apple event before WWDC; however, Apple made it official with the announcement of its upcoming Apple event titled “Let loose.”

The event will be online, in the same format as Apple’s previous media events, and it will go live on May 7 at 7 am PDT/10 am EDT. It’s worth noting that this will be three hours earlier than the usual 10 am PDT time, and in fact, Apple’s October 2018 event was scheduled at that same time, when the company debuted its redesigned iPad Pros.

If you look closely at the illustration for the event invite, the biggest giveaway is the render of the Apple Pencil, which strongly indicates that we’ll finally see major updates to both the iPad Air and iPad Pro, along with a few new accessories. On Apple’s homepage, you’ll see six different illustrations of the Apple logo promoting the event every time you refresh the page.

With the upcoming event in less than two weeks, those updates to the iPad line will certainly be exciting again for those anticipating. We can expect Apple to announce the following: a larger model in the iPad Air lineup, a major redesign to the iPad Pro line with the adoption of OLED displays, and new designs/models for the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil.

You can read further on what we can expect for both the iPad Air and iPad Pro.

To recap, Apple’s “Let loose” event will go live online on May 7 at 7 am PDT, so mark your calendars for Apple’s biggest updates to the iPad line yet.
