Yes, I am getting around to this sort of later than I should have but better late than never as they say, right?

As of this month, I have officially had my iPhone 15 Plus for six months. I still cannot believe this smartphone has been in my possession for this long and how much better and easier it has made my life.

For starters, I did get this iPhone back in October 2023 at my local Apple Store. That same night, I also went and purchased the OtterBox Defender XT Pro at Best Buy for this iPhone 15 Plus.

Six months later, here are my full thoughts on it.

I went from an iPhone 12 Mini to the iPhone 15 Plus, so that’s a major jump just in screen size alone. My iPhone 12 Mini was a blue version and I got the black iPhone 15 Plus, along with the previously mentioned black OtterBox case with a clear backside.

The screen itself is a nice one that I have regularly enjoyed watching TikTok and YouTube videos on, as well as using for simple things like managing my social media. Having the extra space on the screen compared to my old 12 Mini is a nice added plus too.

A downside of the iPhone 15 Plus’ screen, and I think this is an issue with iOS as a whole, is the fact that the default keyboard needs to be significantly fixed or overhauled. I’m still regularly mistyping things or the autocorrect is correcting the wrong word.

When it comes to the design of it, I still like how Apple is going for the rounded corners and similar design as the iPhone 5. It has always been one of my favorite Apple designs and looks for the iPhone.

The cameras have been improved greatly compared to my 12 Mini. It’s not anything that is going to beat the iPhone 15 Pro Max, but certainly a camera that will get the job done and then some, along with adding getting a great view of color that truly showcases what I am seeing.

Battery life seems to be improved on the iPhone 15 line. I have found my battery lasting much longer than previous iPhones of mine.

Speaking of which, I still love the fact that the iPhone 15 Plus has USB-C for charging. This has made my transition to USB-C much better and simpler in the fact that I already owned the iPad Air fifth generation (which is what is being used to type this right now) with the Magic Keyboard that both have USB-C.

A little over a month after I purchased the iPhone 15 Plus, I bought the Apple TV 4K third generation that comes with the Siri Remote with USB-C for charging, whereas previously it was the Lightning port.

Lastly, this iPhone is my first with Live Activities on the Dynamic Island (and my first iPhone with Dynamic Island) which has been absolutely incredible. It has become pretty handy when using this iPhone and seeing precipitation chances and when it will snow or rain in my area, or what the current weather is like outside via CARROT Weather.

Apple Music looks nice on it as I can simply put my thumb over it and “pop it” so I can quickly change the song, fast forward, or rewind the music. Other apps I have used it for have been the Clock app for timers and Apple Maps for getting direction while being in another app.

All in all, the iPhone 15 Plus has been nothing but a joy to use on a daily basis, and I look forward to using it even more in the months and (hopefully) years to come.
