Apple introduced macOS Sequoia, which is the next major release of its desktop operating system for the Mac that brings several new features and refinements. So which Mac models support those new features? According to Sequoia’s webpage, Apple lists two features that will work with certain Mac models.

First, iPhone Mirroring will be available on Mac models with Apple Silicon and Intel-based models with a T2 security chip. In other words, all Mac models that will be compatible with Sequoia, except the 2019 iMac, will support this feature.

  • MacBook Air (2020 and later)
  • MacBook Pro (2018 and later)
  • iMac (2020 and later)
  • iMac Pro
  • Mac mini (2018 and later)
  • Mac Studio (2022 and later)
  • Mac Pro (2019 and later)

Second, Live audio transcription in Notes will be available on Mac models with Apple Silicon, specifically:

  • MacBook Air (M1 and later)
  • MacBook Pro (M1 and later)
  • iMac (M1 and later)
  • Mac mini (M1 and later)
  • Mac Studio (M1 Max and later)
  • Mac Pro (M2 Ultra)

Note that this feature is available in the following languages:

  • English (Australia)
  • English (Canada)
  • English (Ireland)
  • English (New Zealand)
  • English (South Africa)
  • English (U.K.)
  • English (U.S.)

Finally, the highly anticipated Apple Intelligence, which is Apple’s upcoming suite of AI features, will be available in beta on Mac models with Apple Silicon later this fall.

  • MacBook Air (M1 and later)
  • MacBook Pro (M1 and later)
  • iMac (M1 and later)
  • Mac mini (M1 and later)
