Apple announced today that support for Tap to Pay has officially launched in Germany.

By supporting Tap to Pay over there, it also allows for businesses small and large, independent businesses, and other vendors to accept payment directly from an iPhone.

With turning an iPhone into a business’s point-of-sale (POS), it enables it to accept payments from customers using their iPhone or Apple Watch with Apple Pay and Apple Card, along with those using tap/contactless credit and debit cards.

The payment platforms in Germany that currently have Tap to Pay support are Adyen, Commerz Globalpay, myPOS, Nexi, SumUp, and Viva, as of today. There are plans to have mollie, PAYONE, Revolut, Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe, and Stripe be supporting Tap to Pay later in 2024.

Tap to Pay can be used on the iPhone XS and newer. It is recommended for the iPhone being used for Tap to Pay to be running the newest version of iOS on it.
