With summer vacation season going on right now, Samsung has officially announced that it has begun bringing TVs with AirPlay support for iPhone and iPad users to hotel rooms.

Hotel guests that get an AirPlay-compatible Samsung TV will be able to do things like play content from popular streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Prime Video, Peacock, Paramount+, Apple TV+, and countless others.

This makes it so guests are not reliant on a traditional hotel cable or satellite package during their stays.

On top of that, it also enables guests to play music from services like Apple Music, Spotify, Pandora, Tidal, YouTube Music, and other music streaming services.

Now, in order to get this to work on a Samsung TV in a hotel, the user will have to scan a unique QR code displayed on the TV in order to get content to go from an iPhone or iPad to the TV. Once that device is paired via the QR code, it will be connected to the hotel’s Wi-Fi too.

Both the iPhone and/or iPad will have to be running iOS 17.3 and iPadOS 17.3 or newer for the feature to work on those devices.

It has not been said or mentioned yet which specific hotels or hotel chains are getting the AirPlay-supported Samsung TVs in them. IHG Hotels did something similar with LG TVs earlier this year as well.
