That’s right, as we’re getting closer to the public beta releases of several software platforms that were announced last month at WWDC, Apple has updated its public beta website to confirm that visionOS 2 will be the notable exception where new public betas are around the corner.
With the initial launch of the Vision Pro in the U.S. back in February and the recent launch in Singapore, China, Japan, UK, Canada, France, Germany, and Australia, Apple’s spatial computer has yet to receive wider adoption by several customers to be considered a mainstream product.
Even dot updates for the original visionOS never received a public beta release, so we hope Apple would add visionOS to the public beta program; however, that won’t be the case anymore. Apple eventually added watchOS to the public beta program, so we could see the same change to visionOS sometime in the future.
For now, betas for visionOS 2 will be available only to developers with a final public release expected to launch this fall.Â
