The NFL regular season is getting closer, but first, we must get through the preseason.
When it comes to the NFL preseason, what makes a big difference with it is the fact that a lot of the games are not broadcast on national TV stations like CBS, NBC, or FOX, but more so local TV stations and affiliates.
The good news is there are some ways to catch up on all of the action that the preseason brings.
For starters, you’re going to want to have access to NFL Network. The channel will be airing 21 live preseason games this year and will air all of the games on it too. However some of the games might be played not live but as reruns. Regardless, all of the preseason games will get played on it at some point.
NFL Network is available to stream on live TV streaming services like YouTube TV, Hulu with Live TV, fuboTV, DirecTV Stream, and Sling TV. You can see here the full schedule of preseason games the channel will be airing live this year.
However, if live TV streaming services are not your thing, there is another option that could be cheaper for a lot of you. This other streaming solution would be through the streaming service NFL+.
During the regular season, games on NFL+ cover the games in your local TV market only on devices like the iPhone and iPad. During the preseason, those games are not only available on the iPhone and iPad, but also on devices for bigger screens such as the Apple TV.
NFL+ starts at just $6.99 a month and is available to purchase through in-app purchases from the NFL app in the App Store.
The NFL’s Hall of Fame Game this year will air live at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, August 1, on ABC and ESPN, and streaming live on ESPN+.
You can see the full preseason schedule here. Any games that air on CBS or NBC will also be able to be streamed live on Paramount+ and Peacock. Both of CBS and NBC’s nationally televised preseason games will air live on Sunday, August 25.
Prime Video will be having its own exclusive preseason game on Thursday, August 22. FOX will be having its own preseason game live nationally too on Sunday, August 18.
