Prediction: When could we expect to see Mac accessories updated to USB-C?

With Apple changing the way it has done charging on a variety of its products such as the MacBook, iPad, iPad Pro, and iPhone in recent years, one of the aspects that has lacked support are some of its accessories.

The line of accessories that has not received much attention for USB-C support, or at least not a high priority on Apple’s list of projects, are its Mac accessories. This would include the Apple Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, and Magic Trackpad.

Each one of those accessories needs an upgrade to USB-C since Apple has ever so gradually getting away and abandoning Lightning altogether, and for good reason. It was there and had its day when the company but now that time is over and the world has migrated to USB-C.

As for when we could see these new Mac accessories upgraded to USB-C?

I think we will see or hear about them during either October or November 2024, as that is the time when Apple typically unveils new Mac-related products and accessories to the public. We still do not know if Apple will have a dedicated event to the Mac or any other products like it has done historically in October, but those events are not as regular as its September events.

Will we hear about it being released during next week’s Apple Event? I’m not going to say it won’t happen but the chances of that happening are pretty slim.

The Mac line of accessories do desperately need an upgrade to USB-C, with some like the Magic Mouse either need to be tinkered with or redesigned altogether so it can still be used while it is being charged.

As it stands right now, the Lightning port is on the bottom of it, making it impossible to be charged and used while it is charging. You pretty much have to turn it upside down to charge it, which is not very intuitive or user-friendly.
