Last year, we reported that Apple stopped offering the (PRODUCT)RED color for its iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models along with other accessories. The Apple Watch Series 9 had the (PRODUCT)RED finish for the aluminum cases, but with this week’s Apple Watch Series 10, Apple simplified the color palette for the aluminum models to silver, rose gold, and jet black, effectively removing (PRODUCT)RED as an option. In addition, Apple discontinued the (PRODUCT)RED Sport Band when Apple refreshed the Sport Band with several new colors for this season. So starting today, Apple no longer sells any (PRODUCT)RED bands or (PRODUCT)RED Watch models on Apple’s website anymore.
Apple also doesn’t offer a (PRODUCT)RED color for the newly announced iPhone 16 and 16 Plus models, but you can still buy the older iPhone 14/14 Plus/SE in (PRODUCT)RED as well as Silicone cases for iPhone 13/14/14 Plus/SE. With no new Apple products in (PRODUCT)RED this year, this indicates that Apple’s ongoing partnership with (RED) may be coming to a close.
Although there’s no clear explanation for that decision, you can still donate to (RED)’s website to continue to fight against AIDS. Still, I’m fine with the removal of the (PRODUCT)RED aluminum case since that would not go well with other bands that could be purchased separately based on my personal experience. With that said, the classic finishes are here to stay in the Apple Watch Series.
