Apple TV+ is coming to Amazon Prime Video Channels later this month

It was announced yesterday by Amazon that Prime Video will soon be getting an Apple TV+ Prime Video add-on.

The add-on subscription will cost $9.99 a month which is the same monthly price Apple charges all of its Apple TV+ subscribers.

By having Apple TV+ available to streaming directly on Prime Video, those users would have access to the streaming service’s most popular content such as “The Morning Show,” “Severance,” “Ted Lasso,” “Presumed Innocent,” and others. They’d also get access to live Major League Soccer and MLB “Friday Night Baseball” games too.

For those that don’t know, Prime Video Channels are very similar to Apple TV Channels on the Apple TV app, but is simply Amazon’s version of it that was actually launched before Apple started Apple TV Channels.

However, it is interesting to note that Prime Video itself is not available to be subscribed to through Apple TV Channels as of October 2024.

Mike Hopkins, Senior Vice President and Head of Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, said it’s a big move by both companies.

“Prime Video is a first-stop entertainment destination offering a wide selection of premium programming including Amazon MGM Studios Originalslive sports, licensed movies and series, the industry’s largest catalog of titles to rent or buy, and over 100 additional streaming subscriptions,” he said. “As we continue to expand our offering and make it easy for customers to personalize their streaming experience directly in one app, we are proud to welcome Apple TV+ and its popular and critically-acclaimed shows, films and events to Prime Video.”

Eddy Cue, Apple’s SVP of Services, said it is a great opportunity for Apple TV+ and the people behind the scenes that make its TV shows and movies.

“We want to make Apple TV+ and its award-winning library of series and films from the world’s greatest storytellers available to as many viewers as possible,” he said. “We’re thrilled that Prime Video will now offer Apple TV+, giving viewers an incredible breadth of viewing options.”

Other channels and subscriptions available through Prime Video channels include MAX, Paramount+, AMC+, Britbox, PBS Masterpiece, Hallmark+, and countless others.

A date for Apple TV+ being available to subscribe to on Prime Video Channels has not been announced as of yet, but could be announced in the coming days.
