With last week’s announcement of the first Macs with the M4 family of chips and we look forward to the launch of those Macs, I expected Apple to not include any Apple stickers in the box for those Mac models. Now that today’s embargo of unboxings, first looks, and reviews of those have been lifted, it has now been confirmed that this is the case.
This may be a huge disappointment for several Apple enthusiasts; however, Apple started to not include Apple stickers for this year’s products. This trend started with the Apple Vision Pro, and the following products followed suit: iPad Air (M2), iPad Pro (M4), all iPhone 16 models, iPad mini (A17), and now all Macs with the M4 family of chips, many of us did see that coming.
What was even more unique about the Apple stickers that came with those Macs was that they were basically color-matched to the finish of the Mac. Before the newly announced Macs, the previous-generation Macs came with these stickers:
- 14-inch / 16-inch MacBook Pro: black Apple stickers
- 24-inch iMac: any of the seven colors depending on the iMac’s color you pick
- Mac mini: silver Apple stickers
The only exception for an Apple product from 2024 that includes Apple stickers is the MacBook Air (M3) models, which include stickers that color-match to the finish too. However, don’t expect to see any Apple stickers for the product once Apple updates it to the M4 chip as soon as early next year.
If you still want Apple stickers, you may ask for them with an Apple Store employee in person when you pick up a new M4 Mac, given that they still have a supply for them. Otherwise, you’re out of luck. On the bright side, the Apple stickers that you’ve been collecting will be even more valuable.
