Weekly Round-up: Apple unleashed major updates to Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro, and more

Avatar for Nick Soong

Another week has gone by, and while we don’t expect any new hardware updates for the remainder of the year, Apple did pull a big surprise for professionals who want to take their creativity to the next level on both the Mac and the iPad. The biggest highlight of the week was that Apple introduced several major updates to its Pro apps:

  • Final Cut Pro for Mac 11
  • Final Cut Pro for iPad 2.1
  • Final Cut Camera 1.1
  • Logic Pro for Mac 11.1
  • Logic Pro for iPad 2.1

These new updates bring several new enhancements that take full advantage of Apple Silicon, particularly AI features, and they’re now available today.

On the hardware side, it looks like the newest lineup of MacBook Pros has upgraded displays with the newer quantum dot technology. The Gold Link Bracelet that compliments Apple Watch Series 10 in the new gold titanium is now available to purchase from Apple. At the same time, it appears that Apple finally phasing out the Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter. For next year, we can look forward to a smart home display that Apple may possibly announce as early as March 2025.

It was a solid week of news and updates, so stay tuned for next week as we cover more Apple-related news.
