Apple’s biggest manufacturing partner, Foxconn, is set to begin the assembly of AirPods at its Hyderabad, India facility next month, as reported by the Press Trust of India.
While the report did not specify which AirPod models will be produced at the Hyderabad factory, it did confirm that all units manufactured there will be destined for export to international markets.
In recent years, Apple has been strategically diversifying its supply chain to reduce reliance on manufacturing in China. The company, along with its manufacturing partners, has been shifting production to countries like India and Vietnam. This move includes the assembly of select iPhone and Mac models, reflecting Apple’s broader strategy to enhance supply chain resilience and tap into emerging markets.
