First of all, I do apologize for not having May Streaming Picks out. To be honest, it slipped from my mind for some reason and I didn’t think about it until halfway last month, and at that point, I just didn’t think it would have been necessary.
Still though, it is the month of June now and that means summer is right around the corner, and it also means it’s going to be a great time for some summer TV binging.
TV:
- “Squid Games” (Season 3): The third season of this major hit of a TV series comes exclusively to Netflix on Friday, June 27.
- “The Bear” (Season 4): It’s one of the few TV shows in the cable TV era of television that is a consistent favorite with viewers and the fourth season will premiere on exclusively on Hulu on Wednesday, June 25.
- “Doctor Who”: Yes, we did recommend this a couple months ago, but if you are looking for a series that could take you an entire summer (or longer) to get through, this is the perfect science fiction show for you. “Classic Doctor Who” (Seasons 1-26, 1963-1989) can be streamed on BritBox and for free with ads on Pluto TV. “Doctor Who” (also referred to as “New Who,” seasons 1-13) can be streamed on HBO Max, and the newest version of “Doctor Who” (soft reboot) can be streamed exclusively on Disney+. The 1996 “Doctor Who” TV movie starring Paul McGann as the 8th Doctor cannot be streamed in America legally but is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
- “Phineas & Ferb” (Season 5): With this series, it is mostly for kids but also something that millennials and Gen Z can watch for nostalgia purposes, and can be great for the whole family. The next season will start streaming on Disney+ on Thursday, June 5.
- “Ironheart”: Here is another mini-series in the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe. The first three episodes will debut exclusively on Disney+ on Tuesday, June 24.

- “A Minecraft Movie”: The film that made movie theater workers screech and fear for weeks is coming to HBO Max this month. However, we do not have a specific date right now as for when the film will be available there. It is currently available to be rented and purchased through the Apple TV app right now.
- “The Decoy Bride”: Since the summer is typically an important time for wedding season, this film starring Katie Macdonald, David Tennant, and Alice Eve, is a great movie to watch to possibly prepare yourself for all of the shenanigans that can happen with weddings. This movie is available to stream on AMC+.
- “Sonic the Hedgehog 3”: It’s a great movie for kids and young teens to stream this summer and a great family film too. The movie will be available to stream on Prime Video on Friday, June 20, and can also currently be streamed on Paramount+ and MGM+.
- “Nosferatu”: For those that like horror films, this film is currently available on Peacock and will be on Prime Video on Friday, June 27.
