Apple today has introduced AppleCare One, a new subscription service designed to simplify how users protect their Apple products. This new offering allows customers to cover multiple devices under a single plan, building on the existing benefits of AppleCare+.
Starting at $19.99 per month, AppleCare One covers up to three Apple products. Users have the flexibility to add more devices at any time for an additional $5.99 per month per device. This new approach aims to provide a more convenient and cost-effective way to access Apple’s renowned service and support.
According to Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, “Built on the trusted foundation of AppleCare+, AppleCare One extends that same reliability and makes it easier than ever to protect the products you love and depend on like iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, combining simplicity and exceptional value.”
Key Features of AppleCare One:
- Comprehensive Coverage: AppleCare One includes all the benefits of AppleCare+, such as unlimited repairs for accidental damage (like drops and spills), 24/7 priority access to Apple experts, Apple-certified service, and battery coverage.
- Expanded Theft and Loss Protection: Beyond iPhone, the plan now extends theft and loss protection to cover eligible iPad and Apple Watch devices.
- Cost Savings: The pricing for AppleCare One remains consistent regardless of the specific products covered. For instance, protecting an iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch under this single plan could lead to savings of up to $11 per month compared to purchasing individual AppleCare+ plans for each device.
- Include Older Devices: A significant change with AppleCare One is the ability to add already-owned eligible devices that are up to four years old, provided they are in good condition. This expands the window for customers to protect their products beyond the previous 60-day limit after purchase.
- Flexible Management: Managing covered devices is now simpler. When a product is traded in directly to Apple, it is automatically removed from the AppleCare One plan, and the new device is added. The monthly subscription model also allows users to maintain coverage for as long as needed and adjust covered products at any time.
Customers in the U.S. can sign up for AppleCare One starting tomorrow online, or by visiting any Apple Store.
